Full Day Core Curriculum Workshop

Introduction to dermoscopy. Presentations and discussions on the most current information on the use of dermoscopy in helping clinicians classify skin lesions as benign or malignant will include Introduction to Dermoscopy, Terminology, Pattern Recognition, Nevus Patterns, Melanoma Patterns, Solar Lentigines, SKs, LPLK, BCCs, SCCs, AKs, Facial Lesions, and "Unknowns". There will be formal lectures, unknown cases, and hands on with dermoscopy equipment.
DNA is pleased to announce that DermLite LLC will be partially sponsoring and also providing dermatoscopes, DermLite manufacturers the DermLite brand of skin imaging devices.
Heine USA LTD will also be providing dermatoscopes for a hands-on experience at our Dermoscopy Workshop taking place Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at the DNA 42nd Annual Convention.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the use of dermoscopy.
Discuss classifying skin lesions as benign or malignant.
Recognize dermoscopic structures, their histologic correlates, and dermoscopic criteria that are essential in helping clinicians.

Full Day Core Curriculum Workshop
Chair: Victoria Lazareth, MA, MSN, NP-C, DCNP
This Surgical Workshop will provide Lectures and Videos on:Core principles and fundamental techniques of cutaneous surgery; Supplies and Instruments (preps, anesthesia, sutures); Biopsies (shave, punch), EDC, Elliptical Excisions, Mohs Surgery; Special cases and considerations (pregnancy, elders, when to refer) and managing complications (hematoma, dehiscence, dog-ear correction). Additionally, a Hands-On Session will allow participants to perform: Pressure Dressings, Suture Removal and Adhesive Strips; Interrupted sutures and Subcutaneous sutures and if time permits, Pulley sutures and Running sutures.

Victoria Lazareth MA, MSN, NP-C, DCNP is a Board Certified Dermatology Nurse Practitioner who has provided patients with General Dermatology care and Dermatologic Surgery for over 20 years. Victoria is a lecturer for multiple professional organizations, a contributing author to a dermatology textbook, the published author of Dermatology articles a content editor for the JDNA and the JCAD, and currently serves on the DCNP Recertification Committee. Speaker's Bureau for AANP, DNA, Maui Derm NP/PA, and NPACE; and Consultant for Boehringer Ingelhiem, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Incyte.
Half Day Core Curriculum Workshop

The Aesthetics Lectures have been developed for the aesthetic dermatology health care provider to gain insight into a comprehensive approach to providing aesthetic services. It offers continuing education emphasizing both the basics of aesthetic dermatology, as well as new and innovative therapies. All attendees will be able to identify best practices in their own practice and add to their existing practice through new information. Diverse experts in aesthetic dermatology will offer education on topics including patient selection, consultation, and education, brief review of neurotoxins and fillers, laser therapies, cosmeceuticals, and safety/training. The course will utilize lecture, question and answer sessions, and case study review. Due to state law, there will be no hands-on portions of the course but detailed examples during case studies hopes to show real patient examples for deep learning.
Learning Objectives:
Describe updates to current safety guidelines for facial injections from emerging evidence review.
Compare and contrast the most common modalities, including brand names, to understand the breadth of available technologies and identify the overlapping themes in their outcomes.
Discuss the basic tenants of social psychology as it pertains to the face and skin.
Consult new patients and review current aesthetic cases to make plans for treatment, skin care product recommendations, and optimal outcomes.

Blake Bryant is a DNP, FNP-C from Kansas City. He works for the largest aesthetic practice in North America (22,000 sq ft facility with 34 providers and 63 devices). He is also part of a training group that works with 2,500 other clinics annually. He has worked with companies preparing to release technology in plasma, hormone delivery, and carboxytherapy. He has a previous career in corporate psychology. Current research that may be investigating novel uses that have yet to be approved for FDA use will be discussed, otherwise Nothing to Disclose.
After earning a Doctorate from the University of Washington, Amanda worked in a variety of medical specialties including dermatology and aesthetics, oncology, and occupational medicine. She has earned certifications as both a dermatology- and oncology-certified nurse practitioner and has an impassioned interest in aesthetic medicine. She has worked in private practice for 4 years in beautiful Bellevue, Washington and enjoys hiking, beach volleyball, and travel. Current research that may be investigating novel uses that have yet to be approved for FDA use will be discussed, otherwise Nothing to Disclose.
